Throughout the year, the Society hosts several special events to raise
funds for support and education programs. Our events offer
participants two rewards. You can come out and have some fun,
while at the same time, financially support
our much-needed services.
Manulife
Walk for Memories
January
is Alzheimer Awareness Month and to help mark the occasion we host
the Manulife Walk for Memories fundraising event. This 2 km outdoor
walk through picturesque Camp Samac is a great way to get some
fresh air and exercise.
To participate
you can register online at www.walkformemories.ca
or give us a call at 905-576-2567 for a pledge form. Invite your
friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you with a donation
or bring them along as a team. On the event day, you simply bring
in any money you raised and enjoy a program that includes entertainment,
a marshmallow roast and refreshments. You can read more about
this year's successful Walk on our Walk
for Memories 2008 page.

Coffee Break is a national fundraiser held each fall. The Society is
always looking for new hosts to participate in the event.
The event is easy to host and is flexible to suit your needs.
You can host a Coffee Break as part of a staff dress down day, an

These events can be planned by individuals or businesses and are
supported by Alzheimer Society Durham Region. For example, a golf
tournament or a barbecue can be organized and the proceeds can go to
the Society. We will promote the event through the media, and lend our
name, logo and banner.
If you, your company, or social club is planning an event, you can
help by naming Alzheimer Society Durham Region as your charity of
choice. Please feel free to
